Our dental team is made up of a caring group of individuals who share the common goal of offering you the finest dental experience.  We are here to make available a continuum of care to enhance your time with us as a patient.

Ongoing team development, as well as participation in a full array of continuing education programs, prepares us to provide you with a positively professional dental visit.

Dr. McNeil-Amorteguy completed dental school in 1988; under graduate studies at UCLA.  She has enjoyed a dental practice in San Luis Obispo since 1991.  Time outside the office is shared with her family and friends, hiking, traveling, reading and cooking.  Her volunteer work includes fundraising for the American Heart Association.

Summer Chafin, Registered Dental Hygienist

Summer is a native of the Central Coast.  She graduated from Templeton High School and then attended Cuesta College receiving an AA in General Education.  Later, she continued her education at Allen Hancock College receiving an AS in Dental Assisting.

Summer worked for Dr. Amorteguy for 2 years as her Dental Assistant before attending Dental Hygiene School in Fresno California.  She enjoys working in an extremely organized office that also takes the time and care for patients with dental phobias. 

Summer is a member of ADHA, she has also volunteered for Save Our Smiles Clinics in our county.  She enjoys shopping, road biking, hiking, and traveling.

Sharon Dvorak, Registered Dental Hygienist

Born in Honolulu, raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sharon moved to San Luis Obispo in 1983 after her husband accepted a position with the City of San Luis Obispo.  She is the mother of three adult children.

Sharon has enjoyed serving the dental health needs of her patients since her graduation from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills in 1971.  The three-month European trip she took after graduation sparked her love for travel and the international community.  When her children were young, the family participated in two successful European home exchanges.  Now empty nesters, Sharon and her husband have continued traveling.  She is always seeking out their next overseas adventure.

Sharon started working for Dr. Amorteguy in December 1999 and looks forward to many more years of service.

Jessi Black, Registered Dental Assistant

Jessi was raised in a small town in Northern California and graduated from Downieville High School in 2000.   She moved to San Luis Obispo, attended the Dental Assisting Program at Central California School of Continuing Education, receiving her certificate in Dental Assisting in 2005.

In 2007, Jessi earned her license as a Registered Dental Assistant and has been working for Dr. Amorteguy as her Assistant since 2007. 

Jessi is an avid traveler who enjoys time with her friends & family.  Jessi loves to cook, paint, and travel with friends.

Linda Borza, Administrative Assistant

Linda will welcome you to our office.  She brings 30 years of customer service training and experience with a least a decade of insurance background.  The last 5 years she has served in the dental industry.  From your first contact with our office, her desire is to provide excellent patient service and the best dental experience you can have. 

Linda is a former public school teacher, graduating from California State University, Long Beach and training in Winchester, England at King Alfred’s College of Education. 

During her personal time, Linda enjoys walks in her neighborhood and along the coast with her husband and friends.  She also enjoys time with family and fellowship at Shoreline Calvary Chapel in Morro Bay.

Carrina Silvera, Clinical Assistant

Carrina moved from the coast of Washington to live near her family in San Luis Obispo in 1999.  She graduated from Willapa Valley High School and went on to earn a certificate in Massage in 2003.  Carrina attends Cuesta College and is pursuing an Associates Degree in Nursing. 

The voice you will hear when you receive your reminder calls is Carrina’s as she helps around the office, keeping everyone organized, completing daily duties as well as special projects. 

Carrina enjoys spending time with friends, family, scrap booking and baking.  She also does volunteer work in the county and believes that laughter is nature’s medicine to a long and wonderful life.
